On the 12th of February,God called my lovely Richard Home to Him. Words cannot express the devastation that fills our lives now, without him....my Braveheart finally called "FREEDOM!!!"... Richard Collin Armstrong was a gifted musician, who played Clarinet and Saxophone. He amazed many people at the Royal Scottish Academy of music and drama with his playing. He was quite simply, the best musician and hardest working musician at the Academy. He graduated with a bachelor of arts(endorsement of woodwind studies) and to see him graduate was one of the proudest moments of my life.. He quickly became a well respected and much loved teacher of music, adored by his pupils, both at school and at home, with me quickly following suit as a teacher of piano and flute. His enthusiasm for music was infectious! Richard was also a member of the territorial army, both in Glasgow and Yorkshire, from the age of 18 till the day he died. He would work 7 days a week, for most of the day, never taking a rest. What a lot of people do not know is that Richard was a beloved ex husband and best friend,we were married,we divorced, but above all else,we kept a rock solid friendship that endured right till the end. He is and always will be so incredibly loved and appreciated by all of his friends in Scotland and Manchester and we will NEVER stop missing him. I always used to call him Braveheart, for me,my Richard was an honourary Scotsman, and he remains forever in my heart...ride free,Braveheart,on that motorbike...straight into the arms of our Lord!!!
